About Us

The Cleveland Clinic Akron Full general Internal Medicine Residency Programs are approved by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Didactics and the American Board of Internal Medicine. Twelve (12) Chiselled Internal Medicine (3-year plan) and 4 (4) Preliminary (1- year program) positions are bachelor. Residents are Lath-eligible for certification in Internal Medicine upon completion of the Categorical program.

Teaching Modalities

Direct patient care, teaching rounds, conferences (lath preparatory lecture series, formal lectures, instance presentations, and topics in clinical medicine, pathology, radiology, and medical ideals), monthly journal club, research, besides as weekly board review sessions, simulation labs, point-of-care ultrasonography, and procedure training. Didactics are a synchronous blend of in-person and virtual education.

Ambulatory patient care is provided at IMCA, the Internal Medicine Eye of Akron, where resident continuity clinics are held. In improver to dispensary, residents spend time alongside internists and subspecialists as part of their ambulatory training.

Thank you for your interest in the Internal Medicine Residency Program at Cleveland Clinic Akron General. We offer 12 Categorical Internal Medicine (three-year plan) and 4 Preliminary Medicine (i-year program) positions. Upon completion of the Chiselled program, residents are Lath eligible for the American Board of Internal Medicine Certifying Examination.

Our Internal Medicine program has a long-standing history of providing an splendid pedagogy to our residents. Resident Wellness

At Cleveland Clinic Akron General, nosotros strongly believe that resident wellness is essential for effective learning. We ensure our residents have activities and resource to help back up their physical and mental health. We provide gym memberships to our world-class wellness and health centers. Residents accept access to the Caring for Caregivers program, which offers access to behavioral health counselors and resources. We also host annual retreats and events throughout the year. In addition, Cleveland Clinic's GME Section hosts "Resident Appreciation Day" every year with activities and giveaways.

The Internal Medicine Residency Wellness Curriculum provides sessions during the academic year to educate residents on the importance of work-life balance and to offer opportunities to enjoy fun activities with colleagues. These include:

  • Yoga, narrative medicine writing workshops, meditation and vacation celebrations
  • Didactics on topics such as mindfulness, resiliency grooming, managing energy, work-life balance, fatigue management and finances
  • Grief and bereavement discussions facilitated by our palliative intendance team

Resident Fun Day
